The Story

Lucas Oil Stadium completed construction in 2008. Owned by Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority, the stadium is a multi-purpose facility seat-ing over 67,000 fans featuring a state-of-the-art retractable roof, The construction manager was Hunt Construction Group, Inc., of Indianapolis, assisted by the local firms of Smoot Construction and Mezzetta Construction, retaining Maxim Crane Works, LP for all crane related requirements. The project was constructed by dozens of trade contractors, mostly from Central Indiana. The estimated stadium cost was $720 million.

The Scope

The scope and scale of this project required comprehensive lift solutions while adhering to the highest safety standards. Maxim Crane provided (63) cranes total ranging from 15 to 300 ton, including 10 Crawlers, 30 All Terrain/Hydraulic Truck cranes and 19 Rough Terrain Cranes. The majority of lifting equipment was operated & maintained by Maxim Crane. In addition MaximCrane assisted with planning, engineering and industry leading adherence to safety for the duration of the project. The result: over 18,000 labor hours completed without major incident.
