Maxim and AmQuip are Big Players for SunTrust Park

When SunTrust Park, the new home of the Atlanta Braves, began construction in 2014, it was slated to be the first of it’s kind, state of the art, major league baseball park with a multi-use development and community. Cobb County and the Atlanta Braves selected American Builders 2017 as the construction manager to undertake this venture. American Builders is a joint venture between Brasfield & Gorrie, Mortenson Construction, Barton Malow Company and New South Construction Company. This joint venture was selected because of their completion of more than 330 sports projects including football stadiums, baseball parks, soccer stadiums, basketball arenas and more including Target Field, Coors Field, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Turner Field, Minute Maid Park, PNC Park and Coolray Field.
Once completed, Suntrust Park and the Braves Organization will employ 3,000 people with more than 1,600 of them coming from Cobb County with an annual payroll of over $35 million dollars. The Braves Organization has also pledged millions of dollars of revenue back to the Cobb County school system to establish literacy, tutoring and leadership programs.
SunTrust Park is built to be the perfect fan experience unlike any other venue. The setting of 41,000 seats, which is 20% smaller than Turner Field, will give it the classic ballpark feel with modern amenities and southern hospitality. There will be three levels, including two party decks and a field level directly behind right field. Many high profile restaurants, shops, services, hotels and condo’s will find new homes at SunTrust field to make the development into a play, work and stay destination, 365 days a year.
Maxim and Amquip have been a huge part of this process with cranes ranging from carry decks and tower cranes to the new MLC300 as well as many other crawlers and RT’s. We have logged many hours of both bare and operated and maintained rentals, accident free for contractors such as American Builders, Juneau Construction, LPR, Precision Stone, Panasonic, and McKinney Drilling.
